Basement Remodel
We hired Kevin to renovate our entire basement, before I get in to specifics on that project… we were so pleased with his work, our rapport with him and his communication style… we then hired him to work on a bathroom overhaul and then ANOTHER major project we have coming up.
We bought a fixer upper that badly needed a basement reno. We did the demo ourselves, took it down to the studs. It started as a space I dreaded to go in to. Today, it’s stunning.
We have 2 guest rooms, a modern bathroom, laundry room, pantry as well as a large living room. I had one guest call the space her “Hotel Suite”, our out-of-town guests enjoy staying in the basement.
Some of the finishes and details we chose were modern and not necessarily standard for typical renovations, Kevin had no problems with installation. (i.e. installing a floating bathroom vanity.)
Kevin was at our house nearly every day for two months. I am stay at home mother of 2 young children… for me, it is absolutely necessary that I feel comfortable and safe with someone in my house daily.
We are counting down the days for Kevin to start his 3rd project at our fixer upper. So glad we found him.

Kitchen & Extended Floor Remodel
Kevin remodeled our kitchen, including a tile floor that extended into the living room and entryway. He is an absolute perfectionist and did an exquisite job on the installation of new cabinetry, hardware, backsplash, and tile floors. One section of the tile floor included a “half-round” design in the living room floor which we wanted, but seriously doubted could be exactly cut and installed in the shape we wanted. Kevin did it, and did it so beautifully that it is often commented upon by people entering our home! Kevin is open, friendly, and never hesitated to answer questions we had. He stuck to the schedule 97% of the time, and the other 3% always give us a heads up on a delay. He left the work areas as clean as possible at the end of each days’ work which was greatly appreciated. But while the work of a perfectionist is always hoped for and appreciated, having a stranger in one’s home can be disconcerting. This was not the case with Kevin! We never hesitated to leave Kevin alone in the house. He was trustworthy to work alone in the house AND kept our home safe by locking the house up when he left. In short, if you are looking for a contractor who is a perfectionist, is trustworthy, reliable, and can offer experienced advice on design and construction issues—look no further than Kevin and Up To Parr Construction.

3 Basement Finishes
Kevin has finished 3 basements for us over the years. There is a reason we keep using him; he is an incredible craftsman, he is honest and reliable, and he is competitively priced compared to other contractors and remodeling companies. His experience shows in his attention to detail, his functional suggestions and his respect and cleanliness while working in our homes. Two Bathroom Remodels and Miscellaneous Projects
Kevin did two bathroom remodels for us and a ton of miscellaneous projects around the house (sheetrock work, light fixtures, replacing doors, adding bathroom vents, painting, etc). My favorite part about his work is that he doesn’t stop until it is done right. He really goes out of his way to make sure all of his work is top quality. He is also very trustworthy and I always felt comfortable having him in my house when I wasn’t around. We have been so happy with Kevin’s work and plan to use him for all of our future projects!

He Does it All!
Kevin has completed many projects for me and my family. He does great work which is why we keep having him come back and do something else. Not only does he do great work, he cleans up and he exceeds your expectations. From outside construction to interior reconstruction including electrical and plumbing plus finish work to tile he does it all. Recommend him without hesitation.

We love our new kitchen and bath!
Kevin does great work! He renovated our kitchen in May 2020, which involved removing a wall, moving cabinets, installing a mounted microwave, and adding a new backsplash and sink. He absolutely crushed it and we get compliments all the time. And we loved working with him so much that we had him renovate our master bathroom a year later. He expanded our bathroom by moving a wall out. He rearranged all of our plumbing, laid new floor tiles, and built and tiled a walk in shower. We absolutely love it! Not only does he do great work, but Kevin and Carrie are so easy to work with. They are great communicators and they’ve been in the industry for so long that they’re experts. I highly recommend them for any home projects you need help with!

We found this business through word of mouth on a Facebook group. The company had great reviews so we contracted them. It started as a bath – kitchen remodel but as the work progressed and the quality of work became evident, we expanded the scope of work to encompass the entire house. Bathroom Gut & Remodel
Kevin demo’ed our primary bathroom while we were still living out of state. We coordinated ordering the building materials we needed (tile, vanity, lighting, etc) and he had it all ready for us when we moved to Hixson. It turned out better than the photos he shared with us! We had him remove a closet and pre-fab shower unit and replace it with a larger, tiled, walk-in shower with a partial glass wall. He added an accent shower nook with the tile from the floor, and redid our shower drain plumbing (as it was previously not to code). He rewired our electrical, our bathroom fan, and added a light fixture over the shower. He installed the vanity and sink plumbing, replaced the damaged popcorn ceiling, and replaced drywall as well. He did everything, and it was neat as a pin when we arrived

Hall Bath Tub/Shower Remodel
Kevin and Carrie were a dream to work with. They were super flexible in quoting our job (in many different iterations … we’re indecisive people oops) and were able to slot into our schedule while we were away on vacation. When we returned, it really was like an HGTV moment seeing our new tub and tile install. Craftsmanship was perfect, no dust anywhere. We were super impressed. Communication was wonderful too throughout the entire project. And speaking of projects, we can’t wait to book another. Up to Parr Construction is a welcomed top-notch addition to the Chattanooga renovation scene. THANK YOU!
